Day by Day Programme

Wednesday 27 May: Arrivals in Vienna. Party on the roof garden and dinner in Keller of the Hotel.

Thursday 28 May: Depart from Vienna. Drive to the Haydn Birthplace in Rohrau then to the Esterhazy Palace in Fertod – just over the Austrian border near Lake Fertod. Afternoon - free to play chamber music, explore the village or relax. Welcome party then dinner in a nearby restaurant (formerly the Guards House). Concert to be confirmed.

Friday 29 May: Morning -scheduled playing and coaching. Afternoon -guided tour of the Palace then time to explore the extensive park or look around the village of Fertod. Dinner in a restaurant near the Palace. Evening -concert

Saturday 30 May: Morning - scheduled playing and coaching. Lunch in a nearby Palace famous for its international cuisine. Return to Fertod to visit the Haydn House where this great composer lived with the orchestra and opera company who were employed by Prince Esterhazy. Return to the Palace for a concert.

Sunday 31 May: This is the actual bi-centenary of Haydn’s death. It is expected there will be concerts throughout the day. Dinner will be at a nearby restaurant or a buffet in the Palace. 

Monday 1 June: Morning - scheduled playing and coaching Afternoon - visit to be decided. Dinner in a nearby restaurant.

Tuesday 2 June: Morning - scheduled playing and coaching. Afternoon visit Eisenstadt to see the Haydn House and other places of interest. Farewell dinner in the Palace.

Wednesday 3 June: Return to Vienna. Afternoon - scheduled playing and coaching. Dinner in a restaurant near the hotel.

Thursday 4 June: Morning - scheduled playing and coaching. Afternoon - to the Mozarthaus which was enlarged for the Mozart bi-centenary – a fascinating couple of hours then a walk in the Alte Stadt. Drinks and a barbeque dinner on the roof garden of the hotel.

Friday 5 June: Morning - scheduled playing and coaching. Afternoon to Heiligenstadt and visit the Beethoven Museum. Drive through the Vienna Woods to Kahlenburg for a panoramic view of the city. Then to a typical Viennese Heurigen for our evening meal with entertainment.

Saturday 6 June: Morning - scheduled playing and coaching. Lunch on the roof garden of the hotel. Afternoon - free to visit museums of your choice. Evening - ree or a concert.

Sunday 7 June: Morning - to one of the famous churches to hear a Haydn Mass with Orchestra, soloists and choir. Lunch in a famous Keller in the Alte Stadt then to the Haydn House and Brahms Museum. Playing and a farewell party in the evening .

Monday 8 June: Departures.
