This quite short Newsletter is to let everyone know as soon as possible that I have made a change in dates for our Corfu Chamber Music Holiday Festival.  We shall now be in Corfu from 21 June to 5 July. This is an ideal time to visit Corfu with warm weather and wonderful long evenings. However, the main reason for the change is that we shall link up with the Music Department of the Ionian University in Corfu which has an International Music Festival during our two weeks. They have concerts in historic sites and a highlight will be performances of Purcell’s opera Dido and Aeneas conducted by the world famous Baroque conductor and violinist Stanley Ritchie. These performances will be in the Doric style St George’s Church in the 15th Century Venetian Fortress. We have been invited to attend the Dress Rehearsal as well as the First Night.  In addition we shall have our Divertimenti in Corfu concerts in marvellous locations. Details of the internationally known musicians and programmes of concerts will be published in January.

This Holiday is proving popular. Places are limited - especially single rooms - so it would be wise to book as soon as possible.  

Tuscany and Umbria - 1 to 13 September 2011
Our new Holiday in Italy is based in the enchanting Etruscan hill town of Citerna on the Umbria Tuscany border. As expected, there has been a lot of interest in this Holiday Festival. Our charming hotel is the only one in Citerna with just 25 rooms and already 11 rooms have been booked. It would be advisable to make a reservation as soon as possible especially for single rooms as there are only a limited number still available. Chamber music playing with coaching by Elvira and Alfia Bekova (Bekova Trio) graduates of the Moscow Conservatory, renowned for their solo concerts as for their chamber music; and Igor Polesitsky, leading chamber musician in Italy, who has toured with such ensembles as the Borodin Quartet. They will also perform three concerts. Two of these will be in the superb concert hall in Felcino Bianco followed by a buffet dinner in the gardens, an experience few visitors to Italy can enjoy. The other concert will be in a beautiful old church in this historic town. Our hotel has facilities for chamber music, an excellent restaurant with all meals included, stunning views and a lovely pool in delightful surroundings. The extensive sightseeing programme is also proving very popular. Discounts for payment in full finish on 15th December.
